The Story of The Clinic

The Clinic’s doors opened in 2002! Since then, we have cared for 129,309 patients who are uninsured or underserved in the nineteen townships and boroughs surrounding the greater Phoenixville area.  The Clinic was founded in partnership with the leadership of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Dr. Lorna Stuart, Marie Swayze and many generous members and friends of the church who provided financial contributions and physical labor to refurbish the former rectory.

Today, The Clinic is an independent, free medical non-profit 501 (3)(c), and the church has limited its role to being a landlord providing a significantly reduced rent.  Over the years, The Clinic has been recognized by many community and professional organizations for the dedication and quality of care provided by our staff and volunteers.  While we are proud of our past, we look ahead to the future and the ever-changing healthcare environment to be sure we continue to be a safety-net provider for medical care, treatment and diagnosis, serving the needs of our most vulnerable individuals and families in the area.
